Under Subclass 189,190 & 489, an applicant can apply for a Provisional or Permanent Resident Visa, under the General Skilled Migration (GSM) programs. With these options, Skilled Workers can work and live in Australia for an indefinite period. Once all the requirements are met, Skilled Workers can also apply for Australia Citizenship as well. General Skilled Migration is a point-based program, and the points are awarded based on various factors such as English Language Skills, Work Experience in and outside of Australia as well as Education in and outside of Australia, Age factor, Studying and Living in Regional Australia, Spouse Skills, Sponsorship points from the State Territory Nomination and Relative Sponsorship. A person can qualify only when a minimum of 60 points have been scored.
